  • Hong Kong Choy Sum has tender, dark green leaves and slender, crisp stems. The leaves are smooth and slightly tender, while the stems offer a crunchy texture. 

  • Lettuce is:

    • an excellent source of beta carotene (vitamin A) which is needed for healthy skin, bones, and eyes.

    • a good source of dietary fibre can make people feel fuller for longer, helping to reduce overall calorie intake and support weight loss goals

    • a fair source of antioxidants like beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, which support eye health and reduce inflammation.

  • Hong Kong choy sum is usually used for stir-frying with garlic, ginger, and a splash of soy sauce, steaming with a light drizzle of sesame oil or soy sauce as well as blanching (quickly blanch in boiling water, then served cold or warm with a light sauce, often used in salads or as a side dish)
