Komatsuna Choy Sum

  • Komatsuna choy sum has tender, dark green leaves with slender, crisp stems. The leaves are smooth and tender, while the stems offer a pleasant crunch. The vegetable has a mild, slightly sweet flavor, similar to a cross between spinach and bok choy.

  • Komatsuna choy sum is:

    • an excellent source of beta carotene (vitamin A) which is needed for healthy skin, bones, and eyes.

    • a great source of dietary fiber, promoting digestive health

    • a good source of folate, which is needed for healthy cells and the healthy growth of babies during pregnancy.

    • a good source of antioxidants like beta-carotene and lutein, which support eye health and reduce inflammation.

  • Komatsuna choy sum can be prepared for stir-frying (stir-fry with garlic), steaming (steamed till tender and is often served with sesame oil or light soy sauce) or added to soup and stews.
