Kailan

  • Also known as Chinese Broccoli, which is seldomly eaten raw. It is usually stir fired, or boiled. 

  • Kailan is:

    • an excellent source of beta carotene (vitamin A) which is needed for healthy skin, bones, and eyes.

    • a fair source of vitamin C which helps ward off oxidative damage by free radicals in the body.

    • the word's best source of vitamin K which serve to freeze the blood by "activating" certain proteins and giving it the ability to bind calcium.

  • Kailan contains a sequence of bile acids, which can lower cholesterol levels
